Why Peru? It is a long list!
From rustic to state-of-the-art vineyards and wineries, world-class cuisine, adventure, history and living culture. Famous for Machu Picchu and Paddington Bear, Peru has so much more to offer visitors. This ancient Andean country is an emerging, exciting destination for wine tours and the depth of history, culture and gastronomy in Peru will leave you astounded.
Broaden your horizons
Peru’s wine region is a far cry from places like Napa Valley or Rioja, but in many ways it is much more interesting. It is true that the more you travel, the more you understand other people … and also yourself!
Our tours cover a wide range of winery styles and tastings, of course, but we also show you some very interesting aspects of history, local culture and gastronomy all the while providing you with real experiences that make your visit to this country a highly fulfilling one. This visit will change you … and give you memories that will last a lifetime.
Peruvian food is becoming world-famous, with Peruvian restaurants springing up all over the world, in major cities, such as New York, London and Paris. Peru is such a bio-diverse country that its ingredients are extremely varied. Add to this the creativity of national chefs and you get local food to delight any foodie. Carnivores will be in heaven, but the taste buds of vegetarians will also be entertained.
Peruvians are generally friendly and welcoming people, and if you take into account some of the social and economic problems they have, this is very much to their credit. You will be very well looked after by drivers, guides and hotel staff during your stay, leaving you with happy memories of the locals.
Good Value for Money
Not only is the tour good value, taking into account the levels of service, hotels, quality and extensive list of visits, Peru in general is not expensive compared to most developed countries. Eating out and buying souvenirs is accessible to those of all budgets, so you don’t have to break the bank.
Safe and Comfortable
Despite being in a developing country, our tours are high on the safety and security scale. Our transport is always good quality, and we only employ certified drivers and guides. Our hotels are all very good quality, clean, comfortable and located in safe areas.
You will be able to see local situations up close, but you will do it in a comfortable way. We have built eating and drinking opportunities into all the days of the tour to make sure you are never hungry or thirsty. We look after you from when you arrive in Lima until you board your plane home.
You only need a few days off work
Assuming you take our Signature Tour, and add no extra days at the end you can do all that we offer by taking only 5 days off work. Our fixed departure tours always start on a Saturday and end on a Friday. If you have extra days then of course we can take you to Machu Picchu for example. Click here to learn more.
Escape the bad weather up North
Most foreign visitors to Peru come from the northern hemisphere (with a number from Australia and New Zealand, of course) and the best time to see grapes on the vines or plenty of activity in the wine region is when it is coldest in the north. So a trip down here also gives you a nice break from terrible weather elsewhere.
Whatever month you come in, you are virtually guaranteed sunny days in Ica.
Relatively easy to get to
Lima is a major airline hub for South America, and is well served from North America and Europe. Clients from the US and Canada also have the advantage of little or no time zone changes, avoiding jet lag.
There are more and more airlines operating the route, and searches on websites such as Expedia or Orbitz will provide you with many options. Moreover, if you need us to help with flight options, we can. There are so many reasons to come to Peru! Cheers!
